PORTLAND, Ore. – Sarah Brachvogel brought it in a big way to last weekend's Cougar Classic volleyball tournament – and so did the rest of the Seattle Pacific Falcons.

Brachvogel slammed 59 kills as part of what easily was the best week of her career to help SPU win all four matches, and her performances have earned her the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week award.

Monday's award comes on the heels of Brachvogel being named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, which was played at Cal State San Marcos.

The senior 6-foot outside hitter / opposite started her weekend with a career-high 23 kills as the Falcons got past Concordia Irvine, 3-2. She hit .321 in that match and also came up with 11 digs for her second career double-double.

Brachvogel had another double-double of 14 kills and 11 digs in the next match, a 3-0 sweep of host Cal State San Marcos. She also had three blocks against the Cougars.

On Saturday, she had 15 kills in a 3-1 victory against St. Edward's of San Antonio. She then added eight more on .316 hitting in a 3-0 sweep of Colorado School of Mines, which was receiving votes in last week's national poll.

Along with her 59 kills for the weekend, Brachvogel hit .241, had 34 digs, seven blocks, and three service aces.

Through the two weeks of preseason play, she is No. 3 in the GNAC at 3.48 kills per set and No. 20 in hitting at .255.

"She was working really hard, finding different areas of the court, and finding different ways to score," head coach Jason Rhine said after Brachvogel's 37-kill effort in the first two matches. "She did a great job of carrying a big offensive load for us in the first match. She was taking advantage of the good match-ups she had to be an offensive weapon for us, which was great."

Seattle Pacific begins GNAC play this week on the road, visiting Western Oregon in Monmouth on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Saint Martin's in Lacey on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
