SEATTLE – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced its women's soccer All-Conference team on Tuesday afternoon, with Seattle Pacific's Taylor Krueger recognized as the GNAC Co-Player of the Year and seven Falcons receiving All-Conference honors.
"It is great to see these players' hard work and consistent contributions be recognized by the coaches throughout the conference," head coach Arby Busey said. "We have had a great season up to this point and certainly the players that have been recognized have played large roles in our success. We have a good distribution of players, some have provided goals and assists, and some have done an amazing job of keeping the ball away from and out of our net. It speaks to the quality of our team to have players all across the field be represented."
Krueger picked up her second special award in two seasons with the Falcons. Last year, she was named the conference's Newcomer of the Year. In 2024, Krueger shares the Conference Player of the Year honors with Simon Fraser's Isabella Muzzolini.
Krueger has been a creator for the Falcons attack throughout 2024. She leads SPU with six goals, including a game-winner against Montana State University Billings on Nov. 26. She's tied for second in the GNAC in goals scored. Krueger's ability to find teammates has been incredible. She's racked up seven assists on the year and has the second-most in the GNAC. Krueger's total of 19 points is the second-most in the conference. Along with Co-Player of the Year honors, Krueger was a unanimous First Team selection.
Lauren Snedeker adds to a growing list of accolades accumulated at SPU. She was named a unanimous First Team All-GNAC selection on Tuesday. She's set a single season best with three goals this season. She's had one assist and seven points this season. It's Snedeker's second First Team All-GNAC selection. She was a Second Team member in 2022. She was a First Team D2CCAA All-West Region selection a season ago and has been named to the GNAC All-Academic team three times.
Another veteran receiving accolades is Kathryn Nyone. She's been named a Second Team All-GNAC selection. Nyone has started every game this season for an SPU defense that has amassed six shutouts. She's no stranger to the GNAC postseason awards list, putting up GNAC Honorable Mention seasons in 2022 and 2023. She's also a three-time GNAC All-Academic award recipient.
Ashlyn Valdovinos had a breakout season for the Falcons that made her a Second Team All-GNAC selection. She's scored three goals this season, paired with three assists for nine points. It's her first appearance on a GNAC postseason award team. Valdovinos earned GNAC All-Academic honors this season as well.
Nora Patterson emerged as a goal-scoring threat for the Falcons in 2024. She scored four goals this season, including two goals in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Simon Fraser on Oct. 17. Patterson's first appearance on the GNAC postseason awards list is as an Honorable Mention.
Andie Buckley put together a season consistent with her first at SPU. This year, she is recognized as a GNAC Honorable Mention. Buckley scored three times in 2024 and dished out one assist for seven points this season. Buckley was also named a GNAC All-Academic team member last month.
Mercedes Cullen rounds out the SPU selections as a GNAC Honorable Mention. Cullen has made 16 starts in goal for the Falcons. She's faced 200 shots, made 78 saves, and has a save percentage of .821. Her signature match of 2024 came against Western Washington on Sept. 28. Cullen tied the program record set by Jennifer Hull against Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2001. She'd go on to tie the single-game save record with 13 saves. Molly Stinson made 13 saves on Oct. 29, 2016, against Concordia Portland.
The Falcons are set for a rematch against the Red Leafs on Thursday in the semifinals of the GNAC Tournament in Seattle. Kickoff from Interbay Soccer Stadium is at 7 p.m.
