TURLOCK, Calif. – The Division II Conference Commissioner's Association announced its West Region team on Friday morning, with Seattle Pacific's Shaw Anderson earning First Team recognition for the second time in his career.

"This acknowledgment is certainly deserved," interim head coach Keffrey Fazio said. "As Shaw has shown, not only this year, but in his career, that he is one of the best players in DII, and certainly one of the best players in the West Region. His statistics and play represent this honor. If you ask me, he is the best player in the West Region. We are proud of him and thankful for all he's done on and off the court at SPU."

Anderson is the only repeat nominee on the 2023-24 D2CCAA All-West Region Team. It's another accolade on a list that includes Unanimous GNAC Preseason Player of the Year and a Unanimous First Team All-GNAC selection. Anderson is now eligible for a D2CAA All-American nod.

Anderson appeared and started 32 games for the Falcons. He averaged a conference-best 36.8 minutes per game. He averaged 21.3 points per game, second most in the GNAC. His 680 points throughout the season culminated in history. He finished with 1,987 points to become SPU's all-time leading scorer.

Anderson's offensive efficiency was next level. He shot 50.3 percent from the first with a 37.7 3-point field goal percentage. Anderson did not waste opportunities from the free-throw line. He made 89.9 percent of his attempts, the second-best clip in the GNAC.

On top of his remarkable scoring, Anderson did a bit of everything for the Falcons. He pulled down 154 rebounds for an average of 4.8 boards per game. He totaled 80 assists this season, averaging 2.5 assists per game. Both averages were career-best for Anderson.

Sports Information Directors from NCAA Division II West Region schools and conferences selected the two All-Region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later this month. This is the third year the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association has sponsored the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-Region and All-American teams.

The Division II CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and work closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
