Goode & Erazo Lead Falcons in 3-1 Victory over Red Leafs

BURNABY, B.C. – Experience led the way for the Seattle Pacific University men's soccer team on Thursday night against Simon Fraser, as Jackson Goode scored twice and Orlando Erazo added another goal for the Falcons in their 3-1 victory on the road over the Red Leafs.

FROM THE COACH
"It was a fantastic win on the road tonight," head coach Kevin Sakuda said. "We dug ourselves a bit of a hole starting that game so slow, but we showed a ton of character to fight our way back into it. We had guys step up in big moments. Orlando's finish on the game winner was class. Jack was awesome tonight and scored two clutch goals. Brian made a big save at 2-1 to keep the lead. It was just a great team win."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Leafs earned an early 1-0 lead when Kain Proctor scored in the third minute of the match.
  • In the 26th minute, Kasey Toevs had a throw-in near the end line for the Falcons that Jackson Goode got to with his head for goal.
  • The Falcons took the lead for the first time in the match in the 60th minute when Rafael Lucio lofted a ball to the middle of the field, where Orlando Erazo gathered and scored with his left foot.
  • In the 68th minute, Lucio had a shot blocked that landed in front of Goode, who ripped a shot from distance that hit the right post and went in for his second goal of the night.
  • The Falcons maintained their 3-1 lead to beat the Red Leafs.

  • Goode led everyone with two goals in the match.
  • Erazo scored once for the Falcons.
  • Lucio had a game-high four shots for SPU.
  • Brian Lanier made the start in goal for the Falcons and made three saves in 90 minutes of play.

  • Goode's goals were his first of the season for the Falcons.
    • Goode scored his first goal since Oct. 19, 2024.
    • Goode created a new single-season best of two goals in Thursday's match.
    • He now has four career goals at SPU.
  • Erazo scored his third goal of the season and 11th of his career at SPU.
