Chambers Reaches Career Milestone with the Falcons

SEATTLE – Sophia Chambers recorded her 1,000th career assist for the Seattle Pacific University women's volleyball team on Thursday night inside Royal Brougham Pavilion, as the Falcons took the opening set from 19th-ranked Western Washington, but the Vikings came back to take the match 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-16).

FROM THE COACH
"Fun match tonight at home in front of a solid crowd," head coach Jason Rhine said. "We came out aggressive and took advantage of a few things we thought were open in the new system that Western Washington was running. We were able to jump out to a good lead in the second set as well, but unfortunately, WWU did a great job of climbing their way back into the set and putting some pressure back on our side. Hats off to Devyn Oestrich and Delaney Speer for carrying a big load for their team and figuring out different ways to score efficiently throughout the match."

"I want to recognize Sophia in her achievement of 1000 assists tonight," Rhine added. "It takes a lot of work in practice and consistency in games to keep leading our offense well. She works hard in the classroom as well and yet is able to bring a fun sense of humor to the team culture in the midst of her persistent effort."
