SEATTLE – 17th-ranked Seattle Pacific University men's soccer played its first Great Northwest Athletic Conference match of the season on Saturday, earning a resounding 4-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene at Interbay Soccer Stadium.

"We've had a really great start to the season," head coach
Kevin Sakuda said. "This was as complete of a performance as we have had this year. I keep saying it, but this is a tremendously deep team, and we saw that in not only the goals we got but the impact of so many guys tonight."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons scored in the 10th minute of the match, thanks to a brilliant goal from Rafaael Lucio.

- A corner kick from the Falcons landed at the feet of Jackson Goode, who lofted the ball into the box.
- Cristian Chel Lara got a head on it before Lucio performed a bicycle kick to score for the Falcons.
- In the 38th minute, it was JJ Diaz winning a one-on-one to put the Falcons up 2-0.
- Orlando Erazo scored a goal in the 60th minute that was assisted by a great pass from Chester March.
- The Falcons led 3-1 when Connor Tollan finished the scoring for SPU.

- Tollan ripped a shot that was deflected right back to him.
- From his own rebound, Tollan bounced a ball past the NNU keeper to score for the Falcons.
- The Falcons went on to take the match 4-1.

- Lucio and Tollan led the Falcons with two shots on goal each.
- Erazo took a team-high four shots in Saturday's match.
- Four different Falcons scored against the Nighthawks.
- Chel Lara and March tied with a team-high one assist each.
- Brian Lanier got the start in goal for the Falcons and made five saves in 90 minutes between the posts.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Lucio scored his second goal of the season for the Falcons on Saturday.
- Diaz scored his second goal of the season and sixth of his career against the Nighthawks.
- Erazo scored his first goal since 2023 on Saturday.
