Falcons Secure 10-Win Season on Senior Day

SEATTLE – The Seattle Pacific University men's soccer team honored 11 seniors before their match against Saint Martin's, as honorees Jackson Goode, Connor Tollan, and Nick Ramoso led the Falcons to a 2-1 victory over the Saints.  

FROM THE COACH
"Those 11 seniors have given so much to this program and I couldn't think of a better way to honor them than to get three points tonight," head coach Kevin Sakuda said. "Winning games in this league is hard, and 10 wins is great, but the goals we have for this group are still in front of us."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons broke through in the 35th minute of the match when Connor Tollan launched a corner kick into the box, where Jackson Goode got a head to it to score from six yards out.
    • The goal put the Falcons up 1-0.
  • The Falcons added to their lead in the 76th minute when Cristian Chel Lara put one in the lower left corner off assists from Nick Ramoso and Goode.
  • The Saints pulled to within a goal of the Falcons in the 85th minute when Cole Sullivan scored from 14 yards out.
  • The Falcons held on over the final five minutes to secure the 2-1 win.
FROM THE BOX SCORE
  • The Falcons sent in 21 shots compared to eight from the Saints.
    • SPU had eight shots on goal, while the Saints had four.
  • Goode and Chel Lara tied for a game-high in goals.
  • Goode, Ramoso, and Tollan tied for the game-high in assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • Chester March, Alexander Hristov, Connor Tollan, Orlando Erazo, Jackson Goode, Aaron Stapleton, Brady Fendrich, Jesse Thrall, Nick Ramoso, Brian Lanier, and Johan Gaytan were honored before the match.
    • All 11 seniors started for the Falcons.
  • Goode scored his third goal of the season and fifth goal of his career at SPU.
    • He's set a new career best in goals in a season with three in 2025.
  • Tollan's assist was his second of the season and 17th of his career with the Falcons.
  • Chel Lara scored his fourth goal of the season on Saturday.
  • Ramoso recorded his first career assist for the Falcons on his senior day.
  • Saturday's win secured the Falcons' first 10-win season since 2021, when they went 12-4-2 with an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
  • It's the 43rd time in program history that the Falcons have won 10 or more games in a single season.
