BURNABY, B.C. – The Seattle Pacific University women's soccer team scored two goals in the second half against 25th-ranked Simon Fraser on Saturday evening to earn a gritty 2-2 draw with the Red Leafs in Canada.

"What a game, both teams competed so hard tonight," head coach 
Arby Busey said. "We had a bit of trouble finding our way in the first half and went down a goal, but created momentum as the second half progressed. We had to empty the tank to get a draw. But, an amazing effort in the second half to get the goals we needed."
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Falcons fell behind in the 21st minute when Simon Fraser's Kiera Scott scored into the lower right corner off an assist from Alyssa Clark.
 
	- SPU tied the match in the 52nd minute when Grace Gouran drilled a shot into the upper left corner of the net.
 
	- The Red Leafs took back the lead in the 59th minute when Kaiden Sherwood scored, with an assist from Chelsea Crocq.
 
	- The Falcons stayed the course and tied the match in the 88th minute, when Kayla Wallace hammered a shot into the lower right corner to tie the game 2-2.
 
	- The late goal from Wallace helped the Falcons earn a 2-2 tie with the Red Leafs.
 
FROM THE BOX SCORE
	- The Falcons were relentless offensively, sending in 18 shots compared to the Red Leafs' seven shots.
 
	- Taylor Krueger sent in a game-high eight shots for SPU.
 
	- Gouran and Wallace tied for a game-high one goal against the Red Leafs.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
	- Gouran's goal was her second of the season for the Falcons.
 
	- Gouran joined Ashlyn Valdovinos (3), Taylor Krueger (4), and Kayla Wallace (8) as Falcons with multiple goals during the 2025 season.
 
	- Wallace scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season on Saturday.
 
UP NEXT
The Falcons play the final weekend of the regular season on the road. They'll travel to Billings, Mont., to play MSU Billings on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 1:00 p.m., followed by their final regular season match at Saint Martin's on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 11:15 a.m.
