NEWBERG, Ore. – Three members of the Seattle Pacific University women's basketball team scored in double figures on Wednesday night against George Fox, as
Madison Rubino set a new career high with 19 points, leading the Falcons to a 69-50 victory over the Bruins.

"We want to be a team first team and we played that way tonight," head coach
Karen Byers said. "We celebrated each other and you can see that in how we played. Mertes had a break out game and I'm proud that she shot her shot. Rubino was strong in the key and really pulled down some boards when we needed them."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons closed out the final three minutes of the first quarter with a 12-5 run against the Bruins.
- Grace Mertes splashed home two 3-pointers during that stretch.
- The Falcons maintained their momentum through the second quarter, outscoring the Bruins 22-10.
- The Falcons went 7-for-10 during that span, including three made 3-pointers.
- Grace Turley led the Falcons with nine points during the second quarter.
- SPU owned a 42-27 lead at halftime.
- The Falcons went on a 9-4 run to close out the last three minutes of the third quarter.
- Rubino scored five points for SPU during the run.
- Ava Mai scored her first collegiate basket in the final quarter of the game, as the Falcons went on to take it 69-50.
