LOS ANGELES – The Seattle Pacific University men's soccer team faced a tough test in second-ranked Cal State LA on Thursday night, as the Falcons defended well to shut out the Golden Eagles and leave LA with a 0-0 tie.

"The guys were great tonight," head coach
Kevin Sakuda said. "Cal State LA is a top team, and they make the game difficult. I was proud of the way we attacked that game and the fight we showed. We need to be more dangerous in the final third, but getting our first clean sheet of the year was big for the group."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons had an early chance in the 2nd minute when Christopher Soto had a shot that was saved by the Cal State LA keeper.
- Brian Lanier's first save of the match came in the 4th minute.
- Rafal Lucio had a shot that was saved to keep the score tied at zero in the 6th minute.
- Cristian Chel Lara let one rip at the net but missed high in the 10th minute of the match.
- Soto had another go at a goal in the 82nd minute, but he missed right.
- Lanier made another crucial save in the 85th minute to keep the score tied at zero.
- Connor Tollan had one last attempt for a goal for the Falcons in the 87th minute, but missed it high.
