CHICO, Calif. – Cristian Chel Lara recorded his first multi-goal game for the Seattle Pacific University men's soccer team on Saturday against Chico State, leading the Falcons to a 3-1 victory over the Wildcats for their first win of the season.

"That was a big-time win in a tough venue," head coach
Kevin Sakuda said. "Cristian [Chel Lara] was great today. That's what being a team is all about. The next guy stepping up and taking their opportunity. I'm really proud of the way the guys stuck together and closed the game out with ten men. It was a great response from Thursday's match."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons got on the board early on Saturday when Connor Tollan supplied a perfect pass to Chel Lara, who found the back of the net.
- Chel Lara's first goal gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead in the third minute of the match.
- SPU started the second half quickly as well when Brady Fendrich set up Tollan for a goal.
- Tollan's goal in the 53rd minute gave SPU a 2-0 lead over Chico State.
- Shortly after, Chel Lara scored again for the Falcons, putting them up 3-0 in the 54th minute.
- Chico State answered with a goal in the 77th minute, but it wasn't enough.
