SEASIDE, Calif. – The Seattle Pacific University women's volleyball team completed the weekend sweep of the Otter Invitational on Saturday afternoon with two more victories. The first was a 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-19) sweep over Westminster followed by a 3-1 (17-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-16) defeat of Dominican that sealed a 4-0 record for the Falcons for the first time since 2010 at the conclusion of opening weekend.

"Fun day of volleyball for us," head coach
Jason Rhine said. "I thought the team did a great job executing the game plan against Westminster and limiting their middle attacks, which had been very successful up until that point in the tournament. Joslyn [Greff] continued to have a big tournament for us, getting important kills while hitting a high hitting percentage."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons led the Griffins 12-10 before going on a 13-6 run to close out the set.

- The second set went back and forth between the Falcons and the Griffins before eventually being tied at 24.
- Joselyn Greff hammered home a kill, which was followed by an attack error from the Girrfins, giving the Falcons a 26-24 second-set victory.
- SPU opened the third set by jumping out to a 10-5 lead.

- The Falcons finished off the Griffins with a 7-4 run to take it 25-19.

- McCandless had two kills during that stretch.
FROM THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons hit .295 as a team in the match, while holding the Griffins to a .216 hitting percentage.
- Greff led the Falcons with 15 kills against the Griffins.
- McCandless joined Greff as the only Falcon in double-figure kills.
- Chambers led everyone with 39 assists.
- Makayla Hickman had 13 digs, while Christina Lopez scooped up 11 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Greff set a career-high in kills (15), points (15), and digs (2) against Westminster.
- McCandless had the most kills of her career (10) against Westminster.
- Chambers set a new personal best in assists with 39 against the Griffins.
AGAINST DOMINICAN

"Dominican came out firing both on offense and from the service line, and it took us about half a set to respond and match their aggressive play," Rhine said. "We called upon a few people who hadn't played until that point to raise our level of offense and defense starting in set two. It was great to see them ready to go and for our team to come away with four wins."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons fell behind the Penguins early in the first set of their match, as DUC had a 14-5 run to open the match that led to a 25-17 set win.
- Set two featured an 8-3 run by the Falcons to close out the set 25-18.

- The Falcons took advantage of four attack errors from the Penguins to score points during that stretch.
- The third set was close before a kill from Greff sparked an 8-2 run for the Falcons that extended their lead to 14-7.

- The fourth set was tied at 13 when the Falcons exploded for a 12-3 run to win the set 25-16.

- Greff had two kills, while Evans, Maiya Lester, and McCandkless had one each.
FROM THE BOX SCORE
- SPU's defense was incredible against DUC, holding the Penguins to a .070 hitting percentage for the match.
- As a team, the Falcons had eight blocks to just four from the Penguins.
- Omlid led the squad with 11 kills against Dominican.
- Six Falcons had four or more kills against the Penguins.
- Chambers had 27 assists, while Veenendall and Lopez had seven and six, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Brooke Williams set new personal bests in kills (5) and points (6.5) against the Penguins.
- Lester set a career-high in kills with four against Dominican.
- The victory over Dominican moved SPU's record to 4-0.

- It's the first time the Falcons have opened a season with four consecutive victories since 2010.
