Aboudou & Chang Lead Falcons at UW Invite

SEATTLE – Hannah Chang set a season's best time in the 60-meter hurdles, while Tawaf Aboudou broke the 60-meter dash record for the second time this season for the Seattle Pacific University track and field teams during day one of the UW Invite.

FROM THE COACHES
"I felt like we took advantage of our opportunities today with improvements nearly across the board," head coach Karl Lerum said. "Another electric day for Tawaf!"

"We got some wins and some PRs today," assistant coach Eric Hansen said of the SPU distance runners. "Some of our athletes had to take charge of their heats that went out slower than we anticipated, and did a good job racing up front."

TOP PERFORMERS
  • Hannah Chang took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.70.
    • She ran an 8.66 earlier in the day during prelims.

BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Chang was the top NCAA DII competitor in the 60-meter hurdles.
    • Both of Chang's times eclipsed her season's best time of 8.75, set at last weekend's UW Preview.
  • Aboudou and Joshua were the top finishers amongst NCAA DII competitors in the 60-meter dash.
    • Aboudou broke the SPU indoor 60-meter dash record with his 6.80, beating his own record of 6.86 set at the Spokane Invitational last December.
    • Aboudou and Joshua remain the only SPU men's sprinters to run a sub-seven-second 60-meter dash in program history.
  • Aboudou's triple jump cleared his original personal best of 46-10.25 set at the UW Preview on Jan. 16-17.
  • Joshua's 200-meter time of 22.27 is a personal best on an indoor track.
  • Mosby's 200-meter performance of 25.31 set a new personal best, previously set two weeks ago at the UW Preview.
