McMillan Named to GNAC Men’s Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team

PORTLAND, Ore. – The only player in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference to rank in the top five in both assists and rebounds last season, Seattle Pacific University's Theo McMillan has been named to the GNAC Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

"I am a huge Theo fan," head coach Keffrey Fazio said. "He is such a tough competitor for us. He provides great leadership throughout our program, and he is a tremendous student-athlete. Last year, he was able to show the league how impactful he could be on the court. This year, we hope he picks up right where he left off and continues to lead our team.

McMillan returns to the Falcons as a senior guard this season. He averaged 9.4 points per game, shot 53.2 percent from the field, and made 50.0 percent of his 3-point attempts in 2025-26. The Camas, Wash., native also pulled down 6.4 rebounds and dished out 5.6 assists per game, leading SPU in both categories.

McMillan's production stood out across the GNAC leaderboards. He led the conference in assists per game and ranked fifth in rebounding, making him the only player in the league's top five in both categories. He was also third in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4), sixth in field goal percentage and fifth in minutes per game (33.0).

McMillan collected two double-doubles, four games with 10 or more rebounds and seven games with eight or more assists. His season highs came against conference opponents: 18 points against NNU on Jan. 17, 12 rebounds against WOU on Jan. 29, and nine assists against MSU Billings on Feb. 28. He also hit the game-winning basket against Western Washington in February.

McMillan's time at SPU has been decorated with accolades. He was named GNAC Honorable Mention and earned GNAC All-Academic honors last season.

McMillan first appeared for the Falcons in 2023-24, playing in 30 games. He spent the 2024-25 season at Clark College, where he started 28 of 29 games and averaged 17.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. He totaled 517 points, 179 assists and 51 steals, scoring a season-high 33 points against Clackamas on Jan. 8. McMillan was named First Team All-NWAC South Region and an NABC NWAC All-American, and he set the Penguins' single-season assist record.

The GNAC announced its Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll on Oct. 15, with the league's coaches ranking the Falcons eighth.  SPU finished eighth after gaining 36 points in this year's poll. Saint Martin's claimed six of the 10 first-place votes and tallied 88 points to top the poll. Central Washington was close behind with 84 points and one first-place vote for second in the poll, while Northwest Nazarene followed third with three first-place votes and 80 points.

SPU men's basketball season and single-game tickets for the 2026-27 season are available online. Action starts in November, ahead of the Falcons' home opener on Dec. 3 against Central Washington at 7:30 p.m.
