Turley's 20-Point Night Halted by Wolves Late Push

SEATTLE – Grace Turley scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Seattle Pacific University women's basketball team against Western Oregon on Thursday night, but a late push from the Wolves put them over the top, 75-64.

"We played hard and had great effort," head coach Karen Byers said. "The fourth quarter was really frustrating for us, and our fouls got in the way. Naomi had a great game. Kara and the twins had solid defense, and Turley was solid as well."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons and Wolves were tied at eight when SPU went on a 10-4 run midway through the first quarter.
    • Turley and Cascadia Yates scored five points each during that span.
    • The Falcons held the Wolves to a 2-for-10 shooting performance during the four minute and 26 second run.
  • Back-to-back 3-pointers from the Wolves tied the score at 18 at the end of the first quarter.
  • The Wolves hung onto their momentum and started the second quarter with an 8-1 run.
  • The Falcons trailed 26-19 before a 6-2 run cut the deficit to three points with four minutes and 21 seconds left in the first half.
  • SPU trailed 37-31 at halftime.
  • The Falcons started the third quarter with an 11-3 run.
    • Grace Leasure scored six points, while Turley added five of her own.
    • The run tied the game at 42 with four minutes and 45 seconds left in the third quarter.
  • Naomi Hotchkiss hit a turnaround jump shot and two free throws to put the Falcons up 46-44 near the end of the third quarter.
  • Hotchkiss had another four-point streak at the end of the third quarter to put the Falcons up 52-49 with 10 minutes left in the game.
  • The Wolves found a way to outscore the Falcons 26-12 over the final quarter of the game.
    • WOU went 7-for-11 from the field during that span.
    • WOU's Kylani Rookstool took over, scoring 15 points in the fourth quarter.
    • The Wolves also went 11-for-13 from the free throw line in the final period, helping them secure the win.
