TACOMA, Wash. – The Seattle Pacific University men's and women's track & field teams competed in wintery conditions at the PLU Open on Friday and Saturday, where the Falcons delivered several standout performances, highlighted by event wins from
Avery Erickson,
Maya Ewing and
Lysandra Plant, along with multiple personal-best marks.

Maya Ewing back out there again. She looked strong and got a good win.
Avery Erickson also looked much more like himself today and got a strong win in the men's 1500.
Isaac Venable executed a really good race as well.

Mason Hrcek both had a good day in the pole vault. Really glad to see Mason take a big step in the right direction again."
TOP FINISHERS
- Avery Erickson earned the top spot in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:01.51.
- Mason Hrcek cleared 14-11.0 in the pole vault, earning third place in the event.
- Thomas Worby finished fourth in the same event, clearing 13-11.25.
- Maya Ewing had a strong showing in the 1,500-meter run, winning the event with a time of 4:44.39.
- Lysandra Plant had a massive performance in the javelin throw, winning the event with a toss of 122-09.0.
- Tamia Cates took third in the event with a mark of 114-08.0.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Templeton's time of 4:54.46 in the 1,500-meter run was a new personal best for the second-year Falcon out of Seattle.
- Plant's event-winning javelin throw of 122-09 was a personal best.
- Cates also had a new personal best in the javelin with a mark of 114-08.
