Falcons Thrive at Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. – The Seattle Pacific University men's and women's track & field teams competed at one of the biggest track meets on the West Coast at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific.

DAY ONE
  • Isaac Venable posted a time of 31:48.25 in the 10,000-meter run.
  • Maya Ewing finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:46.28.
  • Avery Erickson also ran the 3,000-meter steeple chase, clocking a 9:37.01.
DAY TWO
  • Tawaf Aboudou continued his strong season in the triple jump with a mark of 47-00.25.
  • Aboudou clocked a 10.61 in the 100-meter dash prelims.
  • Robert Joshua wasn't far from Aboudou in the 100-meter dash prelims with a time of 10.74.
  • Brooke Mosby ran a fast 100-meter dash, clocking a 12.20 in prelims.
  • Alexa Gossett ran a 17:07.17 in the 5,000-meter run.
  • Jada Sarrys clocked a 12.23 in the 100-meter dash prelims.
DAY THREE
  • The SPU 4x400-meter relay team of Tawaf Aboudou, Ben Rojas, Robert Joshua, and Justin Brooks took fourth place with a time of 3:12.10.
  • Aboudou sent in the long jump, setting a mark of 24-00.25 and taking fifth place in the open division.
  • Brooke Mosby ran a 12.36 in the 100-meter dash to take sixth place in the open division.
  • Hannah Chang clocked a 14.12 in the 100-meter hurdles for a sixth place in the event.
  • Lysandra Plant hurled the javeline 120-10 to take sixth place in the event.
  • Avery Erickson ran a 3:53.81 in the 1,500 meters.
  • Brooks ran a 47.26 in the 400-meter dash.
  • Alexa Gossett turned in a 17:07.17 in the 5,000 meters.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • Ewing ran a season's best 10:46.28 in the 3,000-meter steeple.
  • Aboudou's triple jump was the best mark of any NCAA DII competitor in the open division in the event.
  • Mosby's 100-meter dash time in the prelims was the fourth fastest of any competitor in the open division in the event.
  • The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Aboudou, Rojas, Joshua, and Brooks ran a 3:12.20, beating their own program record of 3:14.66 from April 3.  
  • Brooks lowered his own program record in the 400 meters with a 47.26, beating his previous record of 47.84 from May of last year.
UP NEXT
The Falcons travel to Bellingham, Wash., for two separate meets hosted by Western Washington on April 24 and 25 next weekend.
