Lee & Garcia Named First Team All-GNAC

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced its Women's Golf All-Conference Team on Friday afternoon, with Seattle Pacific's Lauren Lee and Zoe Garcia earning First Team All-Conference recognition.

"Lauren proved so much this season," head coach Tyler Copp said. "To herself, the conference, and most importantly, the impact she can make on this program. She embodies what it is to be a Falcon. She led us through the fall season through her scores in practice qualifying and was quick to put herself into contention in events at MSU Billings and Hawaii Pacific."

Lee put together a fantastic first season with the Falcons. She racked up three GNAC Player of the Week awards throughout the season. In October, Lee shot a 77 and 78 in each round of the Yellowjacket Invitational. She earned a fifth-place finish and her first GNAC weekly award of the season. The next one came after the LA Spring Kickoff. She shot a 76, 72, and 78 to finish tied for 19th.

Her final GNAC weekly award happened after she became the first Falcon to win a tournament outright. A 76 and a 75 at the Chico State Invitational in April led to her first individual tournament victory with SPU, beating the next closest competitor by two strokes.

Lee wasn't done winning in April. Lee started the third round of the GNAC Championships two strokes back of the lead. She needed two holes to earn a share of the lead, as it would stay tight until the closing moments of the tournament. Lee came up big on the penultimate hole, making par-4 on the 387-yarder, getting up and down with a chip and a putt. Simon Fraser's Dana Smith had a double bogey. Lee closed out the final hole with a tap-in bogey to secure her and the program's first individual GNAC Championship.

"This spring she averaged 75.00," Copp added. "Her individual victories, including the GNAC championship medalist honor, clinched her spot on the First Team All-Conference team. We all know she's an incredible ball striker, perhaps one of the best in the country statistically, so she became difficult to beat once she really started to execute clutch short game shots and putts around the greens. Lauren will continue to take our program to new heights with her attitude, work ethic, and humbleness."

"Zoe and I both felt like she got snubbed a little from the All-Conference selections last season," Copp said. "She's someone who knows her game is as good as anyone's and really proved it this year in competitive fields. For her to be recognized by the other coaches in the conference as one of the top seven players in the GNAC is a big accomplishment."

Garcia entered the 2025-26 season after being named the GNAC Newcomer of the Year last spring. This spring, Garcia turned in several incredible performances. At the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in February, Garcia shot a 68, the lowest single-round score in program history. The round featured three birdies and an eagle. The next day, Garcia matched her own record with another 68. That round featured seven birdies, including six on the back nine. Garcia finished the tournament tied for first but fell short in a playoff hole. It was more than enough to earn Garcia her second-career GNAC Player of the Week award.

"What she did at the Cal State East Bay Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout was arguably the best individual performance in our program's short history," Copp added. "During her T-1 finish, she made 10 birdies, our first and only eagle in program history, and really showed why she's a First Team All-Conference caliber player. We faced eight West Regional opponents that week - it was a big-time performance. The neat thing about Zoe is that she understands the culture we are trying to build and the vision we have for achieving it. She's bought into SPU and is willing to help elevate the play of her teammates."

Garcia was in the mix for the top spot at the GNAC Championships. She finished 12 over par for the tournament and tied for fourth place.  Garcia tied with SFU's Dana Smith for the best average score on par-3's with a 3.07. She recorded 40 pars during the three-round tournament, the most of anyone in the field. Garcia also had the fewest bogeys in the tournament with seven. The next fewest was 10.

"For us, it really was 1A and 1B for both of these two all season," Copp added.  "Whether it was the fall season, most of the spring season, or the month of April, two took turns at the number one spot in our lineup. When you have that competition, it really brings out the best, and I know both are eager to lead our team to a regional bid next season."
