ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Seattle Pacific University women's soccer team continued its Northern California road trip with a match against Jessup on Saturday morning, where Haley Teofilo and Ashlyn Valdovinos powered the Falcons to a 2-1 victory over the Warriors.

"Another good performance on the road for our group today," head coach Arby Busey said. "Had a good first half and got a couple nice goals! Started the second half well, created some great chances, but couldn't get the ball past their goalkeeper. But we held on to see out the game and got another hard-fought win on the road! Time to rest and recover to prepare for game number three."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 11th minute, Teofila put the Falcons on the board thanks to an assist from Nora Patterson.
- SPU added to its lead in the 26th minute when Sophie Hanney set up Valdivons for a goal that put the Falcons up 2-0.
- The Warriors cut into the Falcons' lead in the 64th minute when Mikayla Olariu scored to move the score to 2-1.
- The Falcons kept the Warriors off the board for the final 25 minutes of the match to secure their second victory of the season.
FROM THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons finished the match with 12 shots, seven of which were on goal.
- Grace Coston led the Falcons with three shots.
- Both of Valdovinos' shots were on goal, including what proved to be the game-winning goal.
- Landry Schoennauer made the start in goal for the Falcons, making one save.
- Celia Ramos took over for Schoennauer at halftime, facing three shots while allowing one goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Teofilo's first-half goal was the first of her career with the Falcons.
- Valdovinos scored for the seventh time in her career with the Falcons.
- Ramos made her first appearance in goal for the Falcons on Saturday.
