Brock Veltri returns for his fifth season as head assistant coach on the Seattle Pacific staff. Veltri is SPU’s head recruiting coordinator, oversees in-season scouting of opponents, leads the skill development efforts, and is in charge of scheduling and travel for the Falcons.
During Veltri's time at SPU the Falcons have a combined record of 85-33 and have qualified for the NCAA tournament each season. During that time the Falcons have either hit or exceeded the twenty win mark three times. In the 2006 and 2007 campaigns, the Falcons won back-to-back GNAC Conference Championships, and advanced to the NCAA "Final Four" in 2006. Over the past four seasons SPU has had 9 All-Conference Team members, 5 All-West region selections, as well as 2 All-America honorees.
Prior to Seattle Pacific, Veltri spent two years in a similar position with Scottsdale Community College in Arizona. He began his career as an assistant for his alma mater, Judge Memorial High School in Salt Lake City, under legendary Head Coach Jim Yerkovich, who has recorded over 500 victories in the past 40 years as well as 3 state titles. Veltri also spent one season on the staff at Idaho State University under then head coach Doug Oliver, while completing his master’s degree in athletic administration.
A Utah native, Veltri played basketball alongside his identical twin brother Brandon (Carroll College associate head coach), for two years at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Wash., under then head coach Mark Amaral (Colorado State University Assistant). From there he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Utah.
Coach Veltri also coordinates the Falcon Basketball Camp for Boys each summer. He and his wife, Jenny, reside in Seattle.
