Eric Snyder joinied the Seattle Pacifici women's rowing staff in the winter of 2017.
He started his rowing career in 1996 with Space Coast Crew in Indian Harbor Beach, Florida where he gained a love for the sport. There he helped coach and coordinate rowing camps for SCC in 1999 and 2000.
Continuing into college, he rowed for the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. In his four years as a varsity letterman at FIT he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. As a Panther, in 2005 Eric stroked the men’s pair at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association championship regatta to a fourth-place finish. Following his collegiate rowing days Eric continues to row.
He coached swimming from 2001 to 2014 in Florida. Eric and his wife, Christa, moved to Seattle in 2014, where he resumed his rowing career. Eric coached at the Lakeside School in Seattle most recently as the head varsity girl's coach. Over his time at Lakeside, Eric served as assistant varsity girl's coach, head novice coach, middle school coach, and coached at summer learn to row camps.
Eric is happy to be entering his third year as part of the staff at Seattle Pacific University. Coach Snyder will serve as the intern coach this year as he pursues a Masters Degree in intercollegiate athletic leadership with an emphasis on coaching from the University of Washington just two miles away, and looks forward to another amazing season.
