PORTLAND – Evan Bradford has run his way into the collegiate win column.

Just one week after taking second in his inaugural college outdoor 1,500-meter race, Seattle Pacific freshman Bradford (Santa Barbara, Calif.) now has a first-place finish to his credit with Saturday's 1,500 performance at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open.

Bradford went the distance on the track at L&C's Griswold Stadium in 4 minutes, 0.5 seconds – way ahead of runner up Bryan Cobb from Corvallis Running Project, who logged a 4:06.07, and bettering his provisional qualifying time for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference outdoor championships.

A week ago at the Pacific Lutheran Invitational in Tacoma, Bradford ran a hand-held time of 4:00.6.

Fellow Falcons freshman Dusty Duncan (Lynden, Wash./Lynden HS) also came up with a strong performance, his in the 400 meters. Duncan finished second in 49.95, putting him onto the GNAC provisional qualifying list and leaving him just one-tenth of a second away from the automatic list. Duncan also tied for fifth in the 200 in 22.90.

Senior Jacob Wahlenmaier (Everett, Wash./Cascade HS) took third in the 1,500 in 4:07.21.

OREGON PREVIEW
Farther south down Interstate 5, SPU sophomore Ryan Endresen (Portland, Ore.) had yet another strong run in the 400-meter hurdles, winding up third in 54.89 seconds at the Oregon Preview. That's just a quarter of a second shy of his personal-best 54.65. He already was on the GNAC automatic list, and he's now just less than a full second away from the NCAA provisional time of 53.90.

Junior Ray Zoellick (Bothell, Wash./Cedar Park Christian HS) exceeded his outdoor PR in the pole vault by more than a foot and a half. Zoellick cleared 14 feet, 1¼ inches (4.30 meters), way beyond the 12-6 he went last Saturday at PLU. It put him into the GNAC provisional list and is just half an inch short of automatic.

Sophomore Nate Seely (Lynden, Wash./Lynden HS) improved by nearly two seconds to 1:55.94 in the 800 meters, making GNAC provisional.
