PORTLAND, Ore. – Hannah Hair is turning some heads – and not just within the footprint of her own conference.

The Seattle Pacific volleyball standout is gaining some notice along the entire West Coast.

That became clear on Wednesday when the sophomore middle blocker earned a place on not one, but two All-West Region teams.

Hair made the D2 Conference Commissioners Association second team. That one is voted on by sports information directors at each of the West Region schools and from all three West conferences.

She also was on the honorable mention list on the American Volleyball Coaches Association team.

That makes five postseason honors for Hair within the past month. She was a unanimous first-team selection in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, and also earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, recognizing her achievements on the court and in the classroom. Hair was named to the GNAC All-Academic team, as well.

In helping the Falcons post an overall record  of 15-10 and an 11-7 record in GNAC play that gained a fourth-place tie in the standings this fall, the 6-foot-1 Hair led the conference in hitting at .333 (217 kills-62 errors-466 attacks) and was No. 2 in blocking at 1.35 per set (13 solo – 102 block assists). Her blocking average ranked No. 8 in all of Division II, and her total was the most blocks by a Falcon since Shaun Crespi's 123 in 2018.

Along the way, Hair had seven matches of .300-plus hitting, two of .400-plus, two of .500-plus, one of .600-plus, and one of .700-plus (a career-high .727 on 8 kills-0 errors-11 attacks against Western Oregon on Oct. 2).  She had two kill-block double-doubles.

This was Hair's first full season on the court for SPU. The fall 2020 season was canceled by the ongoing pandemic, so the Falcons played an abbreviated schedule in the spring of 2021. Hair made her mark right away, playing in all 18 matches and recording 90 blocks, 170 kills, and a .340 hitting percentage.

With her numbers from this all tacked on, Hair now has 205 career blocks, 387 kills, and a .336 hitting mark.

Hair was a unanimous pick to this fall's Preseason All-GNAC team. She was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 13-19, and the Defensive Player of the Week for Oct; 18-24. That made her just the 11th player in GNAC history to earn both awards in the same season.
