MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Seattle Pacific University women's volleyball team picked up its second-consecutive Great Northwest Athletic Conference road victory on Thursday night with a balanced offensive attack when they took down Western Oregon 3-2 (25-17, 25-14, 11-25, 24-26-15-11).
FROM THE COACH
"I thought we executed the game plan well and defended well in most of the first set and the second set," head coach
Jason Rhine said. "Western Oregon made some personnel changes, but also came out really firing away in set three, and we had a tough time slowing them down."
"Sets four and five were both really tight battles," Rhine said. "We had a couple of chances to finish it in four, but Western Oregon came up with a big block and an ace to finish that set. And I was most proud of how our team responded in set five. The team was energized and aggressive across the board.
Audra Rose came up with big kills in front of a big crowd from her hometown.
Maiya Lester came into another pressure situation and hit two big serves.
Avery Veenendall had 2 big digs in the last couple of points. And Megan helped finish the match with two high-level kills. An exciting finish and a big team win on the road."
