PORTLAND, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with Seattle Pacific University's
Brady Fendrich being named Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals on Saturday.
"Brady was outstanding on Saturday," head coach
Kevin Sakuda said. "When we were struggling to break that game open, he came in and made an immediate impact. His quality service in wide areas set his teammate up for a goal. He single-handedly scored another one with his running and pressing, and then he showed great composure in front of the goal for another two. It was a fantastic performance and a well-deserved honor."
Fendrich's name was all over the box score from last Saturday's 8-1 victory over Saint Martin's. His production started with an assist on
Orlando Erazo's second goal in the 72nd minute.
After that, Fendrich took over.
Sebastian Rangel assisted Fendrich's first goal of the match in the 78th minute. In the 84th minute, Fendrich scored an unassisted goal for his second of the day. He capped off the hat trick with another goal 53 seconds later.
Fendrich's hat trick was the first for the Falcons since
Raymundo Mendez on Nov. 4, 2023, in a 3-3 draw with Western Oregon. Fendrich now has four goals, two assists, and 10 points for the Falcons in 2025. He's tied for the team-high in goals this season with
Rafael Lucio. Fendrich leads the Falcons in points in 2025.
Fendrich and the Falcons hit the road for two critical conference matches this week. SPU travels to Simon Fraser on Thursday at 5:00 p.m., followed by a showdown with Western Washington on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
