SEATTLE – The Seattle Pacific University women's volleyball team played its final regular-season home match on Saturday afternoon against Western Oregon, as the Falcons extended their winning streak to four by beating the Wolves 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 26-24, 25-21) at Royal Brougham Pavilion.
FROM THE COACH
"It was great for the team to finish the last home stand with another win and make it four in a row," head coach
Jason Rhine said. "Hats off to Maela Honma, we worked hard to slow her down, but she still found a lot of different ways to find kills. Western Oregon did a great job defensively as well, making us really work for points and at times causing us to make some mistakes, which aren't very characteristic of our hitters. I thought our team matched their defensive intensity and prolonged a lot of rallies to give us more chances. Both teams ended up with a high number of digs, and Christina led the way for us again defensively."
"Offensively, our right sides led the way tonight, with Audra and Amaya both hitting efficiently and ending points with kills when we needed it," Rhine added. "We are excited to take some momentum into practice next week, and to finish well in Alaska by continuing to grow all the way to the end."
