SEATTLE – The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 2025 Team Academic Awards on Monday, with Seattle Pacific University women's volleyball earning the honor for the 17th time in program history.
"Our team continues to impress me in the classroom and on the court," head coach Jason Rhine said. "Graduating athletes finished degrees, including nursing and a master's in data analytics, and underclassmen took challenging classes in sciences, engineering, business, and more. Our team worked hard to accomplish their individual academic goals with the support of our university and athletic department. We look forward to another year where our student-athletes will grow academically and athletically as they become more fully prepared for what's next after college."
It's the 17th time the Falcons have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award in program history. It's also the seventh consecutive season the team has made the grade for the accolade. Teams must maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale to earn this award. The Falcons finished 2024-25 with a. 3.53 team GPA.
SPU placed 12 student-athletes on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic team last fall.

Hannah Hair,
Sydney Perry,
Zoe Shuckhart,
Erin Smith, and
Allison Wilks earned the honor for the fourth time with the Falcons.
Abigail Cunningham and
Emily Tulino made their third appearance on the list.
Anna Pelluer,
Coco Barnett,
Sophia Chambers, and
Christina Lopez were first-time honorees.
The academic recognition didn't stop there for the Falcons. Hair, Perry, Tulino, and Wilks were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. To be eligible for the Academic All-District team, nominees must have a GPA of 3.50 or higher, be a sophomore or older, and be a starter or significant reserve on their squad. Hair finished here storied career with the Falcons with a CSC Third Team Academic All-American award.
The Falcons turn their attention to the 2025 season, with matches starting in September.
