ABOUT THE FALCONS
- The Falcons traveled to Denver, Colo., last weekend for matches against MSU Denver and Regis.
- The Falcons tied the Roadrunners 1-1 last Thursday evening.
- SPU got on the board early when first-year Falcon Grace Gouran ripped one past the keeper that got over her outstretched arms for a goal.
- Gouran scored her first career goal for the Falcons in just her second career start.
- Emily Morandi, Ella Smith, and Sophie Hanay played well in the second half, holding the Roadrunners to just one shot in the second half.
- The Falcons took on the Rangers last Saturday, falling 2-1.
- The Falcons trailed 2-0 when Nora Patterson made a penalty kick goal that brought SPU to within one.
- Patterson's goal was her first of 2025 and the fifth of her career at SPU.
- Taylor Krueger led the Falcons with five shots, two of which were on goal.
- Kayla Wallace sent in three shots for SPU.

"Starting the season with four games on the road was a big challenge, but those are the types of games our guys sign up for when they choose to play at SPU," head coach
Kevin Sakuda said. "We want to be tested against top teams, and to do it this early in the season is great for us because it allows us to really assess where we are and areas that we need to grow. It feels great to be back at home training this week, and we are excited to play in front of our home fans at Interbay."

- SPU squared off with second-ranked Cal State LA last Thursday, earning a 0-0 tie with the Golden Eagles.

- Lanier's 13 shots faced were the most in his short career with the Falcons.

- Lanier was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

- Opponents are averaging less than a goal per game (.75) against the Falcons through the first two weeks of the season.

"After two long weekends of travel, we are definitely excited to be back at home to kick off our GNAC schedule," head coach
Jason Rhine said. "Both Alaska schools have a solid returning core this year and have been playing well in their nonconference segments. We know it is a challenging amount of travel for them to come to us and Montana State University Billings, and we are hoping to be sharp and energized playing at home so that we can be ready for some great matches."
ABOUT THE FALCONS
- The Falcons played four matches at the Hampton Inn Nighthawks Classic last weekend.
- Megan Omlid recorded a double-double for the Falcons, with a game-high 19 kills and 14 digs against Colorado School of Mines.
- Sophia Chambers finished with a double-double as well, racking up 29 assists and 14 digs against the Orediggers.
- Omlid recorded a double-double for the Falcons, with a team-high 10 kills and 11 digs against Westminster.
- Elle McCandless had nine kills on a .318 hitting percentage against the Griffins.
- The Falcons took down Westmont 3-1 (27-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-20) in a tightly contested match last Friday afternoon.
- The Falcons hit .221 while holding the Warriors to a .181 hitting percentage.
- Omlid recorded her third double-double of the weekend with 20 kills and 15 digs against Westmont.
- Omlid set a new career-high in kills with 20 against the Warriors on Friday.
- She turned in her best hitting percentage of the weekend, going 20-for-49 for a .367 hitting percentage.
- McCandless matched a career-high in kills with 10 against Westmont.
- She also did it against Westminster on Sept. 6.
- The offense was led by Chambers, who had 48 assists.
- Chambers set a new career-high in assists (48), kills (6), and points (8).
- Omlid finished the weekend with double-digit kills in each of the four matches the Falcons played after accruing 11 against CUI on Saturday.
