SEATTLE – Seattle Pacific University men's soccer head coach
Kevin Sakuda announced the Falcons' 2026 schedule, consisting of a 19-match regular-season slate featuring 10 home contests at Interbay Soccer Stadium, nonconference matches in Colorado and Texas, and another run through the Great Northwest Athletic Conference schedule.
The Falcons open the season with four consecutive home matches, beginning Thursday, Aug. 27, against Stanislaus State at 7:00 p.m. The Falcons return to Interbay two days later to host Chico State on Legacy Day at 1:00 p.m.
The opening homestand continues Sept. 3 when SPU welcomes Westmont for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff before closing the stretch Sept. 5 against Point Loma at 7:00 p.m.
The Falcons then head out for four straight road contests. SPU opens the trip Sept. 10 at Regis in Denver, Colo., with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Two days later, the Falcons face Westminster at Regis Match Pitch in a neutral-site contest beginning at 11:00 a.m. The road swing concludes with Lone Star Conference opponents Dallas Baptist on Sept. 16 at 5:00 p.m. and St. Edward's on Sept. 18 at 5:00 p.m.
GNAC play begins Sept. 24 when Seattle Pacific travels to Northwest Nazarene for a 3:00 p.m. match in Nampa, Idaho. The Falcons remain on the road the following week, visiting Simon Fraser on Oct. 1 at 5:00 p.m. before taking on Western Washington in Bellingham on Oct. 3 at 4:00 p.m.
The Falcons return home for four consecutive conference matches, beginning Oct. 8 against Western Oregon at 7:00 p.m. Saint Martin's visits Interbay on Oct. 10 for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff before the Falcons host Simon Fraser on Oct. 15 at 5:00 p.m. and Western Washington on Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m.
The final road trip of the regular season sends the Falcons to Monmouth, Oregon, for a noon matchup with Western Oregon on Oct. 22 before they travel to Lacey, Wash., to face Saint Martin's on Oct. 24 at 3:00 p.m.
Seattle Pacific closes the regular season with two home contests, welcoming Northwest Nazarene on Oct. 29 for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff before hosting Jamestown on Senior Day on Oct. 31 at 1:00 p.m.
The 2026 GNAC Men's Soccer Championships are scheduled for Nov. 5 and Nov. 7 at Interbay Soccer Stadium, with the conference tournament champion earning the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship.
Seattle Pacific men's soccer returned to the top of the GNAC in 2025, capturing a share of the conference regular-season championship for its first title since 2021 and the fifth in program history. The Falcons won 10-plus matches for the first time since 2021, climbed to No. 12 in the national rankings, and put together a nine-match unbeaten streak.
SPU entered the GNAC Championships with the conference's highest-scoring offense, averaging 2.17 goals per game, while tying for the fewest goals allowed with just 17. The Falcons scored 39 goals with contributions from 14 different players, including an 8-1 victory over Saint Martin's and a 15-goal outburst over a three-match stretch.
The Falcons earned 10 GNAC postseason honors, highlighted by
Victor Cabanas being named GNAC Freshman of the Year and a First Team All-GNAC honoree.
Rafael Lucio returns to the Falcons after being a unanimous First Team All-GNAC selection a season ago.
JJ Diaz missed some time last season, but earned a GNAC Player of the Week award in 2025. Diaz led the team with seven goals, including a hat trick in the GNAC semifinals. Lucio led the conference in shots on goal per game.
The Falcons welcome a talented group of newcomers highlighted by several players with impressive accolades from their previous programs. Owen Jenkins joins the Falcons after a standout career at Capital High School, where he recorded 16 career shutouts and earned First Team All-State, Western Conference Player of the Year, and 2024-25 Gatorade Player of the Year honors. David Ochoa adds collegiate experience after earning Junior College All-American, United Soccer Coaches Junior College All-North Region, and NWAC East Region MVP honors at Columbia Basin College.
The Falcons also add several decorated prep standouts, including Braydon Obrero-Ueno, who helped lead his Hawaii program to three league championships and two state titles while earning All-Hawaii and All-State First Team honors twice. Julian Perez arrives after being named WESCO Offensive Player of the Year twice, while Cooper Schneider brings a proven scoring touch after recording 30 goals and 15 assists at Camas High School. Judah Straight rounds out the group with collegiate experience and All-Conference MVP honors from his prep career at Bellingham High School.
The Falcons will look to build momentum throughout a schedule that features a balanced mix of regional nonconference competition, tough road tests, and 10 opportunities to play in front of the home crowd before postseason play begins.
