FROM THE COACH
"Playing two games on the road to start the season is a big challenge, but we are excited for the opportunity and are ready to meet that challenge head-on," head coach
Kevin Sakuda said. "Our guys sign up to play in big games, and starting the season off this way will be a fantastic test for us. Stanislaus isn't someone we've seen recently, but I know John from his time in the GNAC, and I know we will see a well-coached and organized group. We are more familiar with Chico. There is a lot of history with them, and those games are always competitive and fun to be a part of."

FROM THE COACH
"Playing four games in two days is always a mental and physical challenge," head coach
Jason Rhine said. "Whatever the result of each of the matches, the turnaround to the next match is very quick, and the team needs to reset and play hard again against a new opponent with different strengths and weaknesses. The good news is that we have a fairly deep team and are healthy heading into the weekend. We will have players ready to rotate in and contribute as needed."
"It's super fun to be playing against regional teams that we haven't seen the past few years in Dominican and Monterrey Bay," Rhine said. "CSUMB is typically a threat against whoever they play in their conference, and they have the advantage of being the host team. Lincoln Memorial is coming off a successful year with 17 wins, and I'm sure they will be looking to build off of that and compete at a high level. Westminster similarly has been on the rise and has a lot of good young talent. We look forward to the unusual challenge of seeing them twice in the nonconference season! Finally, Dominican is coming off the first season with a new coach and an increase in wins, so we know that every match this weekend will be a battle."
"We are coming off a lot of hard work in practice the first couple of weeks of the season, and we look forward to seeing the team in action! It will be a great opportunity to develop our identity as a team, to learn to respond well to the challenges in front of us, and hopefully to play freely and aggressively like we have been in practice," Rhine added. "Should be a really fun weekend."
