DuPont, Wash. – Year two for the Seattle Pacific University women's golf team got off to a tremendous start during round one of the Grisham Memorial Shootout on Monday, where the Falcons shot a program-best 300 as a team to open the tournament.
FROM THE COACH
"Anika was striping her drives right down the fairway," head coach
Tyler Copp said. "She gave herself numerous great looks and scored herself four amazing lag putts for birdie. Anika was able to card a three on hole 17th, sinking a 30-footer despite the tucked-back pin and undulated green."
"Natalie hit 14 greens, consistently hitting her approach shots." Copp said. "She was able to score well playing nice and easy, rounding her off with a 74, the second lowest round for the Falcons. She played with a steady rhythm throughout the day, and her focus remained zoned in."
"Brigitte had an outstanding start with a birdie. She stuck her approach shots, giving her advantageous birdie looks at the hole," Copp added. "She had a great bounce back, rounding out her last few holes and finishing even for her last four holes."
"Lauren was able to maintain crucial distance control with her lag putts, giving her secure par looks throughout her round," Copp said. "She had some great up and down saves and carded 14 pars with a birdie to finish out."
