BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Seattle Pacific University men's basketball team had a 13-point lead early in the second half on the road against Western Washington on Thursday night, but the Vikings found a way to get back into the game and take it away from the Falcons, 71-66.

"We had our chances," head coach
Keffrey Fazio said. "We needed to hang in there a bit more in the second half. It's hard to win on the road. Our guys found that out the hard way."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons led the Vikings 8-7 with 14:49 left in the first half, when a 3-pointer from Brant Heppner sparked a 13-4 run over the next 6:07.
- Theo McMillan led the Falcons with four points over that stretch, as the team went 6-for-10 from the field.
- SPU owned a 21-11 lead over WWU at the end of the run.
- Grant Coleman closed out the first half with a 3-pointer that gave the Falcons a 37-27 lead at the break.
- Julian Mora hit a 3-pointer and a layup on back-to-back possessions to give the Falcons a 13-point lead with 17:16 left in the game.
- Henry Sandberg banked in a layup that had the Falcons carrying a 51-38 lead over the Vikings with 15 minutes left in the contest.
- WWU answered with an 18-5 run that lasted 5:38, tying the game 56-56 with 9:13 left to play.
- Aengus Sutherland scored four points during that stretch, while the Falcons went 1-for-5 from the field.
- Another 3-pointer from Mora was answered with an 8-0 run from the Vikings that gave them a 64-59 lead with 4:28 remaining in the game.
- The Falcons pulled to within two points, but the Vikings hit free throws down the stretch to take the game 71-66.

- The Falcons went 26-for-54 (48.1 percent) from the field in Thursday's game.
- Coleman led the Falcons with 15 points on five 3-pointers against the Vikings.
- Trace Evans was efficient, shooting 6-for-7 from the field with 14 points.
- Mora finished the game with 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
- McMillan scored 10 points for SPU with four rebounds while tying Mora with a team-high four assists.
