DOWNEY, Calif. – The Seattle Pacific University women's golf team resumed its season at the LA Spring Kickoff at Rio Hondo Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday, where impressive rounds from
Lauren Lee and
Zoe Garcia led the way for the Falcons.
FROM THE COACH
"Lauren had a fantastic tournament," head coach
Tyler Copp said. "She put together three consistent rounds. After a tough start on day one, she went even par over her final 30 holes. She did a great job putting herself in the right spots and capitalizing on opportunities to rally pars."
"This is the best golf we've seen from Zoe in her career," Copp said. "Other than a few minor mistakes, she played elite-level golf. She always fought and has shown tremendous growth."
"Natalie was also very consistent for three rounds," Copp added. "During round three, she didn't have a single double bogey, leading to her low round for the tournament. She struck the ball well for 54 holes and really kept it together mentally."
"I'm proud of this program and team," Copp said. "Although our team placement in the tournament wasn't exactly what we were looking for, 310, 315, and 313, and good team scores. We averaged just under a 79 for our four countable scores every round."
