PORTLAND, Ore. – After becoming the first player to win a tournament outright for the Seattle Pacific University women's golf team,
Lauren Lee has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season.
"Lauren really found her flow this tournament," head coach
Tyler Copp said. "She had some close calls with being in contention in previous tournaments this year, and it really seemed to help prepare her for this moment."
Lee played a consistent tournament for the Falcons at the Chico State Invitational last week. She opened the tournament with a 76 in round one. She shot par or better on 14 of the 18 holes, highlighted by a birdie on the second hole. Lee's four-over-par performance put her in sole possession of second place heading into Tuesday's second round.
Lee continued to play well during round two, finishing with a 75. Her second round was carried by the final nine holes, where she shot an even par 36. Lee finished the tournament with a 76 in round one and a 75 in round two, to be seven over par for the tournament. Lee's constancy led her to an individual championship, beating the next closest competitor by two strokes.
"During round 1, she struck the ball really well off the tee and with her irons, helping her close out the round with six pars," Copp said. "Round two was a much different day as Lauren scrambled around the course. She made a lot of up and downs to save par and for the majority of round two held onto a 4-stroke lead. We are all so happy for Lauren's breakthrough victory."
It's the third time this season Lee has been named GNAC Player of the Week. Her first award with the Falcons came on Oct. 13, 2025. Lee had a solid performance at the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational, scoring par or better on 27 of the 36 holes. Then on Feb. 9, she earned the award again for her performance at the LA Spring Kickoff. She finished 10 over par during the three-round tournament and tied for 19th individually at the event.
Lee and the Falcons tee it up at the GNAC Championships Monday-Wednesday at the CDA Resort Golf Course in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
