SEATTLE – The Seattle Pacific Athletics Department congratulates women's basketball player
Julia Lavigne and men's basketball player
Jaxon Nap as this week's SPU Athletics Falcons of the Week.
JULIA LAVIGNE / WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
WHAT SHE DID: Lavigne scored a career-high 16 points in last Saturday's game at Montana State Billings. The redshirt freshman hit 5 of 11 from the field, grabbed five rebounds, blocked two shots and came up with one steal in a career-high 24 minutes of action off the bench.
QUOTABLE: "I knew she was going to get a lot of playing time (today)," coach
Karen Byers said. "We had a chat (the day before) about her being game-ready and just coming out and being ready to play. I told her just to focus on rebounds, and the rest will come. She did just great.".
JAXON NAP / MEN'S BASKETBALL
WHAT HE DID: Nap had 27 points and 23 rebounds as the Falcons split a pair of road games last week. Last Thursday at Saint Martin's, the junior 6-foot-7 guard had eight points and 14 rebounds. That was his fifth straight game with double-digit boards and his seventh of the season. Then on Saturday at Western Oregon, he went for 19 points and nine rebounds as Seattle Pacific secured an 81-68 decision to get into the GNAC win column.
QUOTABNLE: "Jaxon has been playing well for us in conference play," head coach
Keffrey Fazio said. "We've grown to expect his production each night. I'm really excited for him the rest of the way and what he will do to help us win games."
