PORTLAND, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with Seattle Pacific's
Grace Leasure being named the GNAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Karen Byers said. "Her strong leadership skills and tenacity fuel her relentless effort- running the floor hard, attacking the rim, and protecting the basket with timely blocks."
Leasure was remarkable for the Falcons over the weekend. She scored 35 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, dished out six assists, blocked five shots, and had three steals in two games. Leasure leads the conference with 2.2 blocks per game. She leads the team in field goal percentage by shooting 51 percent, is averaging the third-most points per game with 9.1, and is third on the team in rebounds with 4.9 per game.
Leasure's weekend started with a career night at Saint Martin's. She scored a career-high 19 points and made seven field goals, the most in a single game in her career. She added six rebounds and two blocks for the Falcons against the Saints.
Last Saturday, Leasure played a big role in the team's best performance of the season. She led the team with 16 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and two steals. Leasure's nine rebounds were a new career-high.
While Leasure filled up the stat sheet, the Falcons scored the most points in a single game this season against Western Oregon. The Falcons knocked down 11 3-pointers last Saturday, the most in a single game this season. SPU had 21 assists last Saturday, the most in a single game this season.
The Falcons are back at home next weekend for two more GNAC games. SPU hosts #16 Central Washington on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 5:15 p.m., followed by a game against Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 4:15 p.m.
