PORTLAND, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced its Women's Basketball All-Academic Team presented by Barnes & Noble College on Friday afternoon, with six members of the Seattle Pacific University women's basketball team earning recognition.
"I'm so proud of the six players who have earned GNAC All-Academic Team," head coach
Karen Byers said. "Their commitment in the classroom matches the discipline and character they show every day on the court."
To qualify for Academic All-Conference, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20, be in their second season or later competing for their team, and have competed on the court during the 2025-26 season.
Layne Kearns,
Grace Leasure, and
Haylie-Anne Ohta are making their second appearance on the list.
Julia Lavigne touts the highest grade point average on the Falcons. The junior Computer Science major owns a 3.97. Lavigne is joined by
Grace Mertes, and
Grace Turley in appearing on the list for the first time.

The Falcons host Saint Martin's tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. Members of the 2026 SPU Athletics Hall of Fame class will be honored at halftime of the game.
