Rhine Adds Three in 2026 Signing Class

SEATTLE - Seattle Pacific University women's volleyball head coach Jason Rhine announced the team's 2026 signing class on Thursday, with the arrivals of Charlize Espinosa, Charlotte Hastings, and Mackenna Golden this fall.

Charlize Espinosa, a 5'8" defensive specialist/libero from Renton, Wash., enjoyed a four-year varsity career at Liberty High School, earning All-League honors three times, the 2024 KingCo Defensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-League as a senior. She is also a three-time Scholar-Athlete and USA Volleyball PSR All-Star.

"Charlize is somebody we have been able to watch with her club teams and get to know for a couple of years here locally and at our summer camp," Rhine said. "No matter what environment she is in, she brings a ton of energy to the court and will always put effort into every play."

Charlotte Hastings, a 6'0" hitter from Santa Barbara, Calif., had three years of varsity volleyball at San Marcos High School. She earned First Team All-League as a junior and League MVP her senior year, helping her team to the CIF Division 2 state semifinals.

"Charlotte has a calm presence on the court and is used to being a go-to attacker on the court and on the beach," Rhine said. "We are excited to have her versatility and positivity in our program."

Mackenna Golden, a 6'5" middle blocker from Eden Prairie, Minn., comes to SPU after three years of varsity volleyball at Chaska High School. Known for her size and steady development, she earned Most Improved honors early in her high school career and continued to make significant progress, becoming a key contributor. Golden also excelled academically, earning Academic All-Conference recognition and demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence in the classroom.

"Mackenna is coming in from Minnesota and brings a lot of high-level volleyball experience," Rhine said. "She connects well with her teammates and is excited to continue her training at the college level."

The trio of newcomers is set to join the Falcons in the fall of 2026.
