SEATTLE – Throughout the summer, the Seattle Pacific sports information team will pose a series of questions to various Falcon athletes. We will feature one athlete each week. This week, it's women's high jumper / long jumper Paige Kessler.

What was the most memorable part of this past season for you?
"The most memorable part of this season was being able to travel with the team. This is something I have been looking forward to since deciding to compete collegiately. I think our travel trips created special bonds with the team as well as so many hilarious memories! I also really enjoyed meeting all of my teammates, since we are all very different people. I think track and field is unique in this way, since we are a multi-gender sport and everyone competes in very different events. I liked the diversity of our team and building relationships with people I wouldn't normally find myself hanging out with."

24XCTF_Kessler_PaigeLooking ahead to next season, what are you most excited about?
"I am most excited about working toward the goals I wasn't quite able to achieve this season. I would be absolutely ecstatic to PR in high jump, as I was SO close to it multiple times this year.

What are you planning to do this summer – Work? Vacation? Hang out with family? All of the above?
"I am stuck here at school. There was a glitch with some of my credits, so in order for me to begin the nursing program in the fall, I have to take Anatomy & Physiology over the summer. I will also have an on-campus job as a Conference Services student worker. Besides school and work I will be running and lifting according to our summer training plan. I am also hoping my friends from home come to visit and stay with me.

What is your favorite summertime way to stay in shape and prepare for next season?
"My favorite way is going for long runs and lifting. Although I don't consider myself a very talented runner (hence, a jumps specialist), I do really enjoy going on a slow, long run while listening to music. I have always been interested in lifting and I find it super rewarding.

Growing up, what was your favorite thing to do or what was your favorite place to go during the summer – and why was that your favorite?
As a kid, my favorite summer activity was going camping at our cabin at Lake Cushman. We don't have the cabin anymore, but it was lots of fun to spend time with my family as well as swimming and boating. Some of my favorite early memories were made there.

Someday – maybe sooner, maybe later – what is one place you'd really like to visit, and why that particular place?
I would love to visit Greece because of the pretty, clear blue water and the architecture.
