PORTLAND, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced its Women's Soccer All-Academic team presented by Barnes & Noble College on Wednesday afternoon, with 15 members of the Seattle Pacific University women's soccer team earning recognition.
To make the GNAC All-Academic team, nominees must have a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA on a 4.00 scale (based on GPA at the current institution). Nominees must be in their second season competing at the nominating institution. First-years, redshirt freshman, and transfers in their first year competing at your institution are not eligible. For graduate students, the undergraduate GPA must also meet the 3.2 minimum. Nominees must be on the roster for the complete season.
The Falcons placed 15 student-athletes on the GNAC All-Academic Team for the second consecutive season.
Maya Parman,
Ashlyn Valdovinos, and
Maddie Cooke lead the squad with perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Parman is joined by
Mercedes Cullen and
Kayla Wallace as three-times selections. Valdovinos,
Andie Buckley,
Logann Dukes,
Taylor Heit,
Taylor Krueger,
Dalton Mermis,
Nora Patterson, and
Landry Schoennauer are making their second appearance on the list. Cooke,
Natalie Boles,
Sophie Hanay, and
Ella Smith are making the list for the first time.
"I have so much respect and admiration for the way our student athletes approach their academics," head coach
Arby Busey said. "We ask a lot of them as athletes, and their ability to meet those expectations and absolutely crush it in the classroom is so impressive. They do not shy away from the challenges that their majors present, and their grades reflect the investment they are making in their futures."
