PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced its Academic All-Sports champions, with the Seattle Pacific University women's cross country team and women's soccer team touting the best GPA in their respective sports.
The trophy recognizes the conference's top-performing academic teams based on cumulative grade point average during each academic year. Northwest Nazarene totaled 155 points among the academic team standings, clearing second-place Western Oregon by 18 points.
Western Washington claimed the women's academic all-sports title, compiling a score of 80 points to edge second-place Seattle Pacific by one point. It marks the first-ever women's academic title for the Vikings.
The SPU women's cross country team accumulated a 3.74 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year. Alaska Anchorage was the next closest team with a 3.66. The Falcons placed five runners on the GNAC All-Academic team last October.

Matise Mulch, and Nicki Yoges have made multiple appearances on that list.
Esvelt,
Maya Ewing, and Mulch continued their academic success by being named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches All-Academic team in February. Esvelt capped her career with another selection to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.
The SPU women's soccer team notched a 3.72 GPA to collect the 2024-25 team title. They beat out NNU's 3.67 GPA. The Falcons had 15 student-athletes named to the GNAC All-Academic team last October.

Maya Parman,
Kathryn Nyone, Moria MacKay, and
Mercedes Cullen had previously made the list. SPU featured six student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-District team.
On the field, the Falcons finished the regular season in second in the GNAC and made the conference tournament for the 12th time in program history. It's a tournament the Falcons have never missed. SPU placed seven players on the GNAC All-Conference team.
Taylor Krueger led the way by being named the GNAC Co-Player of the Year. She was also named a D2CAA First Team All-Region, a United Soccer Coaches All-West Region selection, and a D2CCA Third Team All-American. Snedeker joined Krueger as a USC Second Team All-West Region selection.
