WOMEN'S ROWING
April 3-5
at Florida DII Spring Invite
FROM THE COACH
"This weekend is not only the first travel regatta of the 2026 racing season, but also the inaugural DII Invite hosted by Embry-Riddle," head coach
Kenzie Waltar said. "Last year, we got to race against all three regions at the UCO Invite, and it was a valuable experience. Conditions were challenging, but through that, the team gained a lot of grit and resilience, which continued throughout the rest of the 2025 racing season. This year, the team is looking forward to a brand-new regatta in a new location where we get to race against some of the fastest DII teams in the country."
"Facing off against all three DII regions will provide vital data points that will be used for NCAA qualification coming later this season," Waltar added. "The stakes are high, and the team is excited. We're heading down to Florida to race a new event on a new course against teams we don't often see. It is key for our team to stay relaxed and internal. We cannot control the weather, the conditions, or what other teams plan to do, but we can control who we are and how we approach a challenge. The team is hyped to represent SPU and rise to the challenge this weekend."
