Falcons Finalize 2024 Women's Soccer Schedule

SEATTLE – Seattle Pacific University women's soccer head coach Arby Busey announced the Falcons 2024 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. It features a trip to California for nonconference matches and a loaded Great Northwest Athletic Conference schedule that culminates in the GNAC Tournament in Seattle in November.

"We are excited about this fall," Busey said. "We have a great schedule that will challenge us every time we step on the field. Nonconference games should provide great opponents and prepare us for always difficult GNAC games. Interbay Stadium will host the GNAC Women's Soccer Tournament and it's a place we love to play."

The Falcons open their season with a neutral site match on Sept. 5 against Sonoma State. The quick trip to Arcata, Calif. finishes with a game against host Cal Poly Humboldt on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11:00 a.m. Nonconference wrap up when Hawaii Hilo visits on Sept. 12 at 4:30 p.m. Then on Sept. 14, the Falcons play Chico State at 11:30 a.m.

SPU opens GNAC play with a trip to MSU Billings on Sept. 26 at 1:00 p.m. PST, followed by a major matchup against Western Washington on Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m. in Bellingham. The Falcons return home on Oct. 3 against Northwest Nazarene at 4:00 p.m. They'll play Central Washington on Oct. 5 at 4:30 p.m.

After two road matches, the Falcons return home for four consecutive home matches. They'll play Simon Fraser (Oct. 17), MSU Billings (Oct. 19), Western Oregon (Oct. 24), and Saint Martin's (Oct. 26). The Falcons plan to celebrate senior day against the Saints at 4:30 p.m. SPU's final home match of the regular-season happens on Nov. 7 against Western Washington at 7:00 p.m.

Interbay Soccer Stadium is the site for this year's GNAC tournament. The top four teams in the conference make the tournament and play for an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Tournament happens on Nov. 14-16 in Seattle.

The Falcons are coming off a sensational 2023 season. The team went 13-4-5 and was undefeated in conference play (9-0-5). They closed out the regular season leading the conference with 95 points, 36 goals, 1.89 goals per game, and 23 assists.

SPU won the GNAC regular season title for the 10th time in program history and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. A thrilling 1-0 victory over Cal State LA at Interbay Soccer Stadium sent them to the Sweet 16. The season ended when they fell to eventual national champions Point Loma 2-0.

Awards from the 2023 season included Busey's GNAC Coach of the Year, Taylor Krueger's GNAC Newcomer of the Year Honorable Mention nod, and many more. Returners Lauren Snedeker, Mercedes Cullen, and Kathryn Nyone earned GNAC Recognition as well.
