Lee Named GNAC Player of the Week

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday, with Seattle Pacific University women's golfer Lauren Lee being named Player of the Week.

"Lauren has had a very strong start to our fall season," head coach Tyler Copp said. "She found something in her swing setup at practice earlier in the week and felt well prepared heading into our dual match. Lauren's round was very clean, including a bogey-free 1-under 35 on the back 9. She played aggressively to her spots, which allowed her to hit greens in regulation and get up & down from good spots. It was a joy to see her own the moment and put together a complete round. Her skill set was on full display and really helped our team shoot a great score."

Last Monday and Tuesday, Lee competed in the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational in Billings, Mont. She was consistent throughout the tournament, shooting a 77 in round one and a 78 in round two. Lee scored par or better on 27 of the 36 holes of the tournament. Lee wrapped up her tournament with a birdie on 18 in round two.

The Falcons played Saint Martin's in a dual match at Druids Glen Golf Course last Saturday. Lee had the best individual performance, shooting even par for the round. She recorded two birdies, one on the par four 347-yard fourth hole, and another on the 346-yard par four 11th hole. Lee had 14 pars in Saturday's round.

Lee and the Falcons are set to compete in the Southwest Airlines Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii, on Oct. 20-21 at Waikoloa Beach Golf Course.
