SEATTLE – This week in Seattle Pacific University Athletics, women's golf finishes the Southern Colorado Open on Monday, while men's and women's track and field competes at the Peyton-Shotwell Invitational on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

FROM THE COACH
"We're coming off arguably our best team performance as a program last month," head coach Tyler Copp said. "Our team is playing really good golf at the moment and we've had a few individuals step up in qualifying to earn spots in the lineup. Last year we performed well in Pueblo and we are looking forward to trying to earn another final round pairing with the top teams."

ABOUT THE FALCONS
  • The Falcons competed at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout on Feb. 22-23, put together one of their best tournaments of the season.
  • Zoe Garcia, Lauren Lee, Natalie EklundAnika Schau, and Stella Johnson teamed up to shoot a 297 during round one.
    • It was the lowest single-round team score in program history. 
  • The Falcons placed sixth overall in the tournament. 
  • Garcia became the first Falcon to finish in a tie for the top spot individually in program history.
  • Garcia set a program record for individual single-round score with her 68 on Feb. 22.
    • Garcia's round featured three birdies and an eagle on hole six, a 451-yard par-five.
    • Her round featured one hole in which she did not shoot par or better.
    • Garcia matched her own program record with another 68 on Feb. 23.
    • Her second round featured seven birdies, including six on the back nine.
  • Garcia was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her performance at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shoutout.
  • Lee shot a personal best 71 during round one.
    • Lee's first round featured four birdies, three of which happened on the final nine holes.
    • Lee posted another consistent round on Feb. 23, shooting a 74.
    • She had three birdies, all coming on the back nine of the course.
  • Johnson made her first appearance in the SPU lineup for the Falcons.

ABOUT THE FALCONS
  • The Falcons competed at the OSU PNW Invite last weekend, featuring several strong performances from the squad.
  • Tawaf Aboudou ran a 10.66 in the 100-meter dash, earning a third-place finish in the event.
    • Aboudou's 10.66 set a new school record in the 100-meter dash and is a new personal best.
  • Fresh off an All-American Honorable Mention performance at NCAA Indoor Nationals. Hannah Chang won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.55.
  • Justin Brooks won the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.90 seconds.
  • Maya Ewing earned an event victory in the steeple chase with a time of 10:56.95.
    • Katelyn Flolo had a strong performance as well, taking third in the event with a time of 11:20.03.
  • The SPU women's 4x400-meter relay team clocked a solid time of 3:52.93, with Jada SarrysBrooke MosbySophie Hanay, and Ayala Pontius making up the squad. 
    • The women's 4x400 team clocked a season's best 3:52.93 on Saturday.
  • Andrew Bell earned a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.10.
  • Avery Erickson ran his first steeple chase of the season, clocking a 9:20.46 to earn a second-place finish in the event.
